Backend Developer

At EAERA, we build and scale technology that powers modern fintech businesses. We’re looking for hands-on Backend Engineers who enjoy solving complex challenges, building reliable systems, and continuously improving their technical expertise.

You’ll work on a multi-tenant fintech platform, contributing to both existing services built with Ruby on Rails and the development of new backend solutions, with Python/FastAPI as our primary technology direction for future development and modernization.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and enhance our existing Ruby on Rails CRM and fintech service integrations, including payment gateways.
• Develop new backend services in Python using FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Alembic.
• Design and build REST APIs, authentication flows, background jobs, and asynchronous/event-driven workflows.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and ClickHouse, including database migrations, query optimization, and data consistency.
• Write reliable, maintainable, and testable backend code with proper error handling and failure recovery.
• Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with platform/DevOps engineers in containerized deployment environments.

Job Requirements: 

Must Haves: 

• Strong proficiency in either Python or Ruby on Rails, with willingness to work across both stacks.
• Solid understanding of backend application development and HTTP/REST APIs.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL, including transactions, indexes, constraints, and data consistency.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or a similar relational database.
• Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment.
• Experience working with Linux-based development environments.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot issues across application and database layers.

 Nice to Have 

• Experience with Python async development and frameworks such as FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, or Alembic.
• Production experience with Ruby on Rails and its ecosystem.
• Experience with Redis, background processing, Kafka, Pub/Sub, or other event-driven systems.
• Understanding of concurrency, idempotency, retries, failure handling, and distributed systems concepts.
• Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC, ClickHouse, or other analytics databases.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure, ArgoCD, Helm, and CI/CD or GitOps workflows.
• Familiarity with logs, metrics, and troubleshooting production systems.
• Experience with Vue.js / Nuxt / TypeScript is a plus.
• Interest or experience in fintech, payment systems, or digital financial services.

Qualifications: 

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of relevant software engineering experience is preferred.
